New Montserratian Author Brenda McCartney who resides in the Bahamas takes a LeAp with first collection of poetry.

Brenda L. McCartney nee Daley was born in Plymouth Montserrat W.I., raised by her maternal grandparents. She completed her Secondary Education in Montserrat, taught at the Montserrat Junior Secondary School, studied Banking and Finance at The College of the Bahamas, Global Economics at the London Guildhall University and completed a MBA at the University of Central England, Birmingham.
She was a Teacher, a Bank Regulator, presently a Supervision and Investment Specialist and now a Writer.
She is married to Rev. Fr. Enrique McCartney, has one daughter Daly and currently resides in New Providence, The Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
LeAp is a celebration of life - a woman's life - the life of a mother - a wife - a daughter - an Island girl. With carefully crafted prose, the author creates images, sounds and emotions based on her experiences and observations. The writer pens the feelings of a first time mother. Her emotions shift to thoughts women have as they struggle to find that delicate balance of family, career and community. The author cannot deny she is a part of the greater world, capturing the news and tragedy that are pressing on the safety of home. McCartney remembers her grandmother and Montserrat - the person and the place that helped to shape the woman courageous enough to LeAp into her own life as she acknowledges that the journey of life is compiled of seasons.
Brenda has captured memories of childbirth and motherhood, a woman's fears and struggles. Her simple, yet profound poems remind us we are all connected and share common dreams and joys. Definitely worthy of purchase and will bring many wonderful moments of respite.
Nerissa Golden, Author Truly Caribbean Woman’s Guide to Good Love
It traces love, challenges and disappointments. The poems are structured so that interpretation depends on one's perspective going into a realm of thought, texture, feeling and emotion that is specific to the reader. The poems transcend genres and categories; poetry, memoir, romance and history. LeAp reflects life in various countries and reveals many moods.
